Who are you?

Hi, it is Dr. Claire Kay here. Come and ask me any questions at all about coaching and menopause in the workplace.

What is the menopause?

So technically the menopause is when you have 12 months of no periods, and the average age of the menopause is around 51, but it can occur in much younger women as well for various different medical reasons.

What is perimenopause?

So perimenopause is when your hormones are fluctuating, when you are coming up towards the age of the menopause, and that could be going on for anything between four years or even longer. So it really can occur anytime from sort of early forties onwards, or in some women, particularly of certain ethic backgrounds or if you've got a medical condition, can even be much earlier.
