Who are you and what is your background?
Hello. My name's Dr. Rebecca Rohrer. I'm a doctor, practising clinically, a medical director at Bupa, and I've got a passion for women's health.
What is endometriosis?
Endometriosis is a condition where the lining that is normally inside the womb can grow outside it. So in places like the fallopian tubes, the ovaries, and even sometimes in the areas lining the pelvis and in places like the bladder or bowel.
Who gets endometriosis?
Endometriosis affects about 10% of reproductive age women around the world, that's about 190 million women. In the UK, about 1.5 million women are living with endometriosis.
