Who are you?

Hi, my name's Claire Fernandez. I'm a medical doctor, so I'm a consultant in occupational medicine with an interest in women's health. Outside of work, I like to dance, I like to sew. I'm a mother of a 2-year-old girl and a wife.

What is your background?

So I've been a medical doctor for 16 years. I've worked throughout the world in the uk, in West Africa, in New Zealand and Indonesia. I've been the chief medical officer of several big companies like the BBC, and I'm an expert in work and health.

How can employees support colleagues who might be struggling?

So I think the first thing with supporting anybody who's struggling be it with mental health problems, health problems, or with work in general, is to reach out in a sensitive manner and listen and ask how you can help them.
